Returning for its fourth year, Dancin’ Downtown at The Joyce Theater welcomed more than 200 dancers from 18 schools on Monday, May 20, 2013, for the only competition providing dance students the opportunity to be seen by distinguished dance luminaries on one of the most prestigious stages in New York City.

The students danced in original routines in hopes of winning scholarships and performance opportunities. The 2013 Joyce Theater Performance and Choreography Award winners will get the chance to open for Martha Graham Dance Company on July 23 and 24 at City Parks Foundation SummerStage in Central Park. Individual dancers and entire studios were also rewarded with scholarships to summer intensives and regional conventions by the judging panel and DRA sponsors.
