Dancers Responding to AIDS has had a long relationship with Dance Masters of America,
mostly thanks to Toney Spisak. When Toney stood up at a board meeting while DRA was
giving a presentation and announced that he was HIV positive, the face of AIDS morphed
from something frightening and alien to something more familiar within the DMA community.
Since that moment, DMA has been so generously supportive of DRA, and in light of his
recent passing we wish to continue our mission together.

Toney was intrepid--with his craft as well as with combatting his disease. We at DRA will
continue our work with this same ardent tenacity as we continue to fight in his name, and
in the names of everyone else we have lost.

Please make a donation to Dancers Responding to AIDS in honor of Toney Spisak.

Toney, when AIDS is stopped we will dance for joy. Until then, we dance for life--which,
as you have reminded us all, is the most valiant endeavor.
